Orcas Island Wedding
“Congratulations. You had a wonderful wedding. Don’t have another one!” He smiled, drunk though he was, and said a heartfelt, “No, this is the only one.” Continue reading

Rapsody
RAPSody – the Ride Around Puget Sound – is now in its 6th year. Originally conceived as a true Sound surround experience, complete with ferry rides, the addition of the broad bike path across the Narrows bridge eliminated the Vashon Island portion of the trip. Continue reading

Glacier
Cheryl was overjoyed by her lemonade tea. Just the thing to go with the second Baker’s Breakfast cookie as we read the Missoulian out there on the deck. It seemed like finally, our bike trip was beginning – some sun, some rest, nowhere to go, and an empty highway to go there on. Continue reading

Cirque Headwall
The lift operator at the base of the plater pull was nowhere in sight. I glanced into the lift house; pulling on his gloves, he barged towards the “GO-STOP” sign, but didn’t walk over to hand me the pole. He … Continue reading

Annie’s Trees III
And now, there is Annie’s Trees, just tight enough for a 5’5’’ snowboarder to snake through and remain upright and jubilant. Continue reading

Annie’s Trees II
Annie follows me down, trying to do every turn with me. How she does this on a snowboard, I don’t know, as she’s always behind me, and I never see her until I stop. But she’s always there, every time I turn, and I know that another Tree Skier has been born. Continue reading
