Silver Linings Playbook – my new favorite Christmas movie. A Rom-Com for the 2nd decade of the 21st century. She’s got poor impulse control, he’s bi-polar, and they bond over a shared disgust with Klonopin and Seroquel. Featuring the impact of Dancing with the Stars and the NFL on modern life. Seriously, this David O Russell film (Three Kings, I Heart Huckabees, and The Fighter) is superbly written, and stars a killer performance from Jennifer Lawerance, along with Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, and an insightful South Asian psyschiatrist.
