Glacier
Cheryl was overjoyed by her lemonade tea. Just the thing to go with the second Baker’s Breakfast cookie as we read the Missoulian out there on the deck. It seemed like finally, our bike trip was beginning – some sun, some rest, nowhere to go, and an empty highway to go there on. Continue reading

Summer Camp
We left CDA at 3:45, and proceeded to lose an hour crossing time zones at the Montana border. Pulled into the barbecue at 7:38, and seemed to actually be on speaking terms with each other as well as our daughter. This boded well, I sensed, for the rest of the trip. Continue reading

Swimming Outside
Triathlon is basically a vain attempt to return to the pleasures of childhood. Riding a bike, swimming in the local pool in the summer, running races on the playground – all conjure a sense of freedom, a lack of structure that we start to lose around age 12 or so. Continue reading
