Haiti, in Pictures

Continuing the first post from Cheryl in Haiti. The pictures are small, due to the poor transmission quality via email from Cheryl in Haiti. Once she gets back home, she’ll have top quality ones available. To see a slightly larger version, click on an individual photo.

The student midwives, graduating on Nov 13, are wearing pink scrubs.

The photos above are at the Midwives for Haiti house where the students were de-briefing after their last clinical day together. Lots of thanks for the support of teachers, Mathonney (woman with headscarf), Reina (American midwife holding baby Jamlix who is the cook’s son, one of the students wiping tears from her eyes after thanking everyone for their support and love, and then Judenell who is the 20 yo security guard. After he saw the pictures I took of him, he smiled and told me I was his friend for life. (I think it might have been a default phrase because his English is just slightly better than my Creole… but he was endearing nonetheless!)
